Organizing the hen party for the bride is the duty of the chief bridesmaid. The most popular form of a hens night is usually getting all the girls together for a night of drinks and debauchery, but there are many other ways to celebrate as well. Here are the basic things you need to do if you find yourself organizing the hens night.

Guest List

Everyone the bride wants at the hens night should be written down on a list. The guests should include friends, co-workers, family and anyone else she is close to. Other relatives, grandmothers, aunties, and the bride-to-be's mother should be included as well. The bride's soon to be mother-in-law, any sisters-in-law, and anyone else in the groom's family that you think she may want to be at the hens night should be included as well. Before you finalize the list, make sure you show the guest list to the bride.

Choose A Date And Venue

The hens night should be chosen by the bride so it works with her schedule. The night before the wedding is not a good night to hold the hens party. Find a venue to suit the theme you have chosen for your hens night.

Budget

A lot of thought should go into planning the hens party. To cover the basic costs, should all of the hens chip in? Will you be footing the bill, or splitting it amongst everyone? To get a good idea of what the night will end up costing, work out a budget.

Invitations

Once the guest list is whittled down and finalized, set the date, the theme and the place and then send out the invitations. You can use the more traditional form of invitations - paper invites in the mail. Using Facebook, you are able to send out E-vites if you'd like to do it that way instead. The hens can RSVP much easier using an E-vite. The venue details, theme, and cost should be included in the invitation.

Food and Drinks

Work out what kind of food and drinks you need to get based on the number of hens you are expecting. When choosing the food and drinks, remember to keep the theme in mind if you have one. 

Games And Entertainment

The hens night should include games centered around the bride-to-be. Hen games, not Clue or Monopoly. Classic drinking games such as 'I have never', or the infamous 'make a wedding dress out of toilet paper' are the most popular hens night games. Then there is the traditional hen's party male stripper, hired to serenade the bride. It's a good idea to run this idea past the bride before organizing a stripper. Organizing music for the night should also be on your to-do list. The gals should get ready to party so make a play list matching the theme of the party.

Set Up Transportation

Taxis will work for the night unless you want to look into booking a limo. Pre-book transportation according to your budget and your guest list.
